The journey of the South Seas Ice Cream Company began with a chance encounter between our founder and gelato maestro, Sean, and his Italian wife, Paola, in a London bar. Their beautiful love story unfolded, guiding them to move to Italy. It was there that Sean's love for Italian gelato ignited, leading him to earn a qualification as a gelato maker from the renowned Carpigiani Gelato University.

 

Life, however, had other plans for Sean, keeping him in his engineering career for many years. It wasn't until a life-changing move to the paradise shores of New Zealand, affectionately known as the South Seas, that Sean decided to embark on a new adventure. This remarkable odyssey allowed him to finally live out his long-time dream of crafting gelato, thus creating the South Seas Ice Cream Company.

 

Sean's passion and skill for crafting gelato and sorbets were undeniable, but the world of social media was uncharted territory for him. Enter Martina, Sean's second daughter (aka, me). I offered to take on the role of creating and managing our website and social media pages, ensuring that people far and wide could discover my dad's delicious frozen treats.

 

Together, the father-daughter team of Sean and Martina combined their talents and passion to present to you the South Seas Ice Cream Company.
